Golden Eagle Wings

Let me take you away
On golden eagle wings
To places you’ve never imagined
Where time stands still
Your heart and mine
Entwined in an adagio of gentle love
Beating in perfect synchronicity
Onward we will glide
Over the ethereal meadows of Xanadu
Scorning unelightened naysayers
Who would dare
Rend us asunder
Our shared smiles
And gentle kisses
Weaving harmonic strands of love
Like a violin
Building to a crescendo
Deeper and deeper within us

Our breaths
Mingle and echo
Of mutual yearnings
Avowing a connection
Stretching beyond the mists of time
You and I together
Are an unstoppable force
And when night falls
The stars will find it unbearable
To compete against the ankh glow
We create
Let me take you away
On golden eagle wings

Gentle Giant

you towered over me
your shoulder six feet
to my five feet five
your muscles rippling
underneath
bay brown skin
black mane
freely hanging
over your forehead
short tail
swishing lazily
graceful curves
belie powerful
hinquarters
four fringed
white socks
adorn your hooves
proud neck arches
while calm clear
brown eyes
gaze down at me
as your white blazed
velvet nose brushes
my outstretched hand
Clydesdale
gentle giant
indeed you are

Splash And Bounce

Honey blonde body
Prances in circles around me
Dancing the language
Lets play splash and bounce!

Chocolate eyes
Never leaving mine
Fervent their plea
Lets play splash and bounce!

Front lowers
Chest brushes ground
Muscles coiled and ready
Lets play splash and bounce!

Back legs stand
Quivering in anticipation
Await with patience
Lets play splash and bounce!

Breath quickens
Lips licked with long pink tongue
The suspense mounts
Lets play splash and bounce!

My arm arcs
Letting the wood stick fly
Tumble and turn in the air
Yea! Lets play splash and bounce!

Blurred explosion
Mirror lake surface shattered
Yellow laborador in motion
Splash bounce splash bounce!

Unerringly locate stick
Grab in strong jaws
Tail wagging triumphantly
Splash Bounce splash bounce!

Return to land
Drop stick at my feet
Dripping wet, boisterous barking
Lets play splash and bounce again!

Posted in loving memory of Reed
There wasn’t a yellow laborador who
loved to play splash and bounce
as much as she did.

Gentle Love

Let my gentle love
Be like the rain
Falling softly from the sky
Cleansing the tracks of your tears

Let my gentle love
Be like the breeze
Echoing through the trees
Whispering your name
Calming your fears

Let my gentle love
Be like the sunrise in the morning
Awakening your hearts desire
Warming you from inside out
Drawing forth smiles from your soul

Let my gentle love
Be like the river’s current
Flowing from me to you
Replacing the sadness in your eyes
With sparkles of happiness

Let my gentle love
Be like the moonlight
Wrapping you in peaceful serenity
Keeping the nightmares at bay
Guarding you and healing you

My Eyes

My eyes are of sapphire blue
Proud familial heritage
On both sides
I have been told
They darken to a deeper shade
In moments of intimate passion

With my eyes I have watched
Trees bending and swaying
Into the wind
The sudden forked flash
Of lightening
And the gyrating rhythm
Of raindrops

The telephone was invented quite accidentally
Little did Mr. A.G. Bell know that he had created a monster
But whether its rotatory, touch-tone, cordless, or cellular
I can only reach out and touch someone with my eyes

Radios, televisions, CD players are commonplace
VCR’s have spawned DVD’s, the latest is iTunes on the Internet
But for me, nothing can compare to seeing Melissa Etheridge
Or many other performers live and in person, with my eyes

With my eyes I have witnessed
The myriad riots of brilliant color and texture
The splendor of the frenetic and the sedate celebrations
That make up the madness known as Mardi Gras

Birthdays, graduations, funerals, Christmases
Family reunions, historical moments, ringing in the New Year
All the experiences and memories of a lifetime
My eyes have seen and celebrated them all

My eyes have drunk in the beauty
Of my lover’s body
Traveling the soft curves, gentle swells, delightful hollows
To mirror the nuances of pleasure and desire in her eyes

With my eyes, I see, I read, I cry
Just like every other human being
But I also hear and I listen
For my eyes are also my ears
