Sojourn into the quiet of the night
And sing to me
Of the beauty that is your soul
Let not duplicity and glib remarks
Be an hindrance
To the whispered lyrics
Fearlessly cast aside noetic explanations
Let the pendulum of sorrows and anguish vanish
Gelatinous morass of anger and hate effaced
All transfigured
Into a serene stillness within you
Sing to me
Of the beauty that is your soul
A prayerful tribute
Sailing into the quiet of the night

tonight
brillant full moon
no need
for loquacious foreplay
let your touch
banish
this darkness
from the caverns of my heart
to pellucid dimensions
of the universal void
only your kiss
can quell this hunger
let your wings
surround me
shelter me
from utter chaos
you and you alone
can breach my perimeters
as I willingly lay
defenseless
upon your altar
with one ubiquitous thrust
take me to
the ultimate equinox
of ectasy
set me free

One day
A meandering path
Brought Her
To the banks of a River
Shading Her eyes
She looked in the direction
Where the River came from
Noting where levees had been built
To shore up
Erosion from the past
There were also sandbars
Marking the River’s struggles
Before finding its course again
Here and there
She saw where the River’s tears
Branched off into trickles
Disappearing into unseen landscapes

She then looked
In the opposite direction
And saw the River
Still had miles to go
Endless possibilities
Predestined crests and falls
And all the other levels in between
Before it emptied itself
Into the gentle arms of the sea
She watched
The smooth slow moving surface
Of the River
Gently lapping at Her feet
Eddies and whorls
Only hinting
At the depths beneath
Intrigued, unafraid, drawn
To the spirit of the River
She bent down
Dipping Her fingers
To feel
The embrace of the River’s undercurrents
Her words whispered
Only for the River to hear
I do not want to tame you
I want to explore you
I do not want to conquer you
I want to walk beside you
Tendrils of the River
Curled around Her fingers
Like the tiny fist of a child
Grasping
In perfect love and trust
And in that moment
The River became Hers

Silence
deafening silence
not of my choosing
never to hear
the whisper of a breeze through the trees
the bubbling of a mountain stream
the cry of a newborn baby
the laughter of children at play
the staccato rhythm of a rainfall
the booming roll of thunder
the harmony of a gospel choir
the haunting dialogue of memorable movies
the soft moans of a lover’s ectasy
threads in the rich tapestry of the sounds of life…….

silence
deafening silence
not of my choosing
I have thrown myself prostrate
countless times
upon this altar of silence
cursing
pleading
weeping
praying
to the gods of technology
and their medical acolytes
please take away this cross
of silence from me
spare me this desolation….

silence
deafening silence
not of my choosing
but
it is the hand of the potter
never ceasing
to shape me, mold me, knead me
a living sculpture
tempered anew each day in the kiln of life
not into the brittleness of despair and self pity
but into the strength and durability of faith
that all i was, all i am, and all i’ll ever be
is not limited
by this deafening silence

Hold me tight
I feel so safe
In your arms
I can deal
with anything and everything
in this world
as long as I can
lay my head
between your breasts
and feel
your heart beating
against my cheek
nothing else matters
your love fills me
and
we become
one breath
so
if you feel
my tears flow
and
leave damp tracks
on your skin
Tis because
I’m so very thankful
that I have
you to
hold me tight
