Mmmmm … Mmmmm …
I get wings to fly
Oh, oh … I’m alive … Yeah

When you call on me
When I hear you breathe
I get wings to fly
I feel that I’m alive

When you look at me
I can touch the sky
I know that I’m alive

When you bless the day
I just drift away
All my worries die
I’m glad that I’m alive

You’ve set my heart on fire
Filled me with love
Made me a woman on clouds above

I couldn’t get much higher
My spirit takes flight
‘Cause I am alive

When you call on me
When I hear you breathe
I feel that I’m alive
(I am alive)

When you reach for me
(When you reach for me)
Raising spirits high
God knows that…

That I’ll be the one
Standing by through good and through trying times
And it’s only begun
I can’t wait for the rest of my life

When you call on me
(When you call on me)
When you reach for me
(When you reach for me)
I get wings to fly
I feel that…

When you bless the day

Who can know when love will find thee,
or what twist of fate will be dealt?
Who can say if it was right or wrong,
what the shattered heart has felt?

Borne upon glistening wings
the soul trembles and sighs
It knows not the where of it all
it knows not the whys…

Who are we to say yea or nay
when love comes unbidden?
But when it leaves, we are left
broken winged… grief stricken.

But had we never loved at all
how empty we would be
Never knowing how it feels
for the soul to fly free.

Weep no more, my friend
find courage and take heart
Someday your life mate will come
and from you will never part.

Fly well,
Fly free….
Know in your heart,
you are true to thee.

Fear not the night
for day shall come again
Love will enfold you tenderly,
fly strong into the “when”

Let the wind lift you,
let your wings take flight
Soar into the breaking light of dawn
leave behind the sorrows of night

Lyrics

Well if you ask me where I come from
Here’s what I tell everyone
I was born by God’s dear grace
In an extraordinary place
Where the stars and stripes and the eagle fly

It’s a big ‘ol land with countless dreams
Happiness ain’t out of reach
Hard work pays off the way it should
Yeah, I’ve seen enough to know that we’ve got it good
Where the stars and stripes and the eagle fly

There’s a lady that stands in a harbor
For what we believe
And there’s a bell that still echoes
The price that it cost to be free

I pledge allegiance to this flag
And if that bothers you, well that’s too bad
But if you got pride and you’re proud you do
Hey, we could use some more like me and you
Where the stars and stripes and the eagle fly

Yes there’s a lady that stands in a harbor
For what we believe
And there’s a bell that still echoes
The price that it cost to be free

No, it ain’t the only place on earth
But it’s the only place that I prefer
To love my wife and raise my kids
Hey, the same way that my daddy did
Where the stars and stripes and the eagle fly

Where the stars and stripes and the eagle…fly
Where the stars and stripes and the eagle fly

Under the stoic glare of the sun goddess
A golden winged eagle soars
Chasing and riding the air drafts
Echoing of vaticinated dreams

This solitary flight a symbolism
Of hope and wistful yearning
Yet also tempered by a resource
Of inner wisdom and patience

A tangible thirst for diversity
And the knowledge that there will be
Crossroads in the approaching evergeen horizon
Which will consecutively measure the balance
Of prowess and vunerability

Perfection
Is not the gauntleted wrist this eagle seeks
But rather….
That bright spark of recognition
Twin soul flames
Whose reflections are mirrored
Deeper than a mere idyllic lagoon
Stripped of supersitious murmurs…
Untarnished by blood magic…

No stranger shall She be
When talons grasp Her gloved wrist
For every nuance of Her Power will flow
Entrancing every aperture
Until the soul quakes joyfully at the intensity
Transforming ordinary ladders
Into glorious stairways
To the cosmic heavens

Golden eagle wings
Soar this crisp November sky
One final flight of retrospection
Towards the horizon of healing
One by one with each beat of golden wings
Each rhapsody of heartsong
Fades somewhat into the distance
Carried by the winds of memory…
The thunder of three heartbeats
Dulls into whispers of sweet echoes
Retreating into the mists of love torn asunder….
Wise eagle eyes now look and see
The true many sided complex portrait of you
Yet I do not regret the splurges of intense sharing
Because I know
The pure inner essence that was you and I
Recognized
Merged
Entwined
For one brief moment in time
Transcending the soul scarred landscapes
Of our past travels
Some long ago prophecy is fulfilled….
We both acknowledge and cannot deny
This primeval connection that lies between us
But we now have our separate destinies
To our own selves we must be true
Without masks
Tempered by harsh lessons learned
Perhaps the gods and goddesses will now be satisfied
That this bijou cup shall remain untouched….
Fare thee well,
Warrior Woman of My Heart
You will be a perpetual flame
Burning in my soul
